研究室簡介

木質部是地球上最大量的組織。木材就是木質部,而木材形成是一個複雜的發育過程,涉及維管束形成層的細胞增生,接著是次級木質部細胞的分化。多細胞生物的生長和發育被多個分子在不同的調控層級中所調控著。瞭解木材形成的調控層級將為森林樹木的生產力提高,提供新穎和更精確的遺傳學方法。透過以毛果楊莖分化木質部的原生質體作為模型,我們開始揭示參與次級細胞壁形成的轉錄調控網路。

 

在開花木本植物中,次級木質部由三種類型的細胞組成:纖維細胞,導管細胞,以及放射細胞。在維管束形成層中,一層幹細胞分裂並分化成上述這三種類型的細胞,並使其具有獨特的功能。纖維細胞提供支撐,導管細胞運輸水分,放射細胞儲存營養。我們透過單細胞測序與雷射顯微切割技術,解析單一細胞類型的發育,來探討木質部發育與研究其詳細機制。
